I am featuring it here because it was used, along with Maca Root Powder and Yacon Root powder as a nutritious sweetener / flavouring in my raw chocolate recipe. Acai berries are rich in antioxidants and may be beneficial for brain and heart health. They have anti-inflammatory properties. The powder can be included in your daily diet by adding to smoothies, water, or sprinkling over your healthy breakfast!
If Jade Leaf’s ceremonial grade matcha seems extravagant, especially for use in lattes, you might like to try FGO Matcha. They offer a certified organic, culinary-grade, shade-grown matcha powder sourced from family tea farms in Japan. They do not mention lab testing (which is likely where a huge part of Jade Leaf’s cost is attributed), but as only a small percentage of matcha powders in Japan are certified organic, I would suggest this is a great alternative. If you’re using your matcha powder for baking or for lattes, you might be best to use this organic culinary grade product from FGO, and enjoy Jade Leaf’s ceremonial grade as a pure matcha drink.
I love my milk frother. It seems to hold its charge forever. I use it almost daily for my Match Latte. It is even more essential when blending in extra ingredients such as chai spices or mushroom powders, for added health benefits.
Nourished Essentials claim they invented these types of lids that convert your wide mouth mason jar into a fermenter. Their statement of food safety and BPA free is under “product information”. It is an improved version of the ones I purchased and featured in my video, and has a screw top with a date dial. It comes with a pump for sucking out oxygen, which I love. Only 3 in a pack, but definitely enough to get you started.

Fermentation weights with built in handles to facilitate their placement and removal have recently become popular.
I am suggesting this company because their weights are food safe, and tested for lead and cadmium. At 2.6” diameter, they are perfect for wide mouth mason jars, and have been recently upweighted to 200g, ensuring complete submersion of the vegetables.
This double ended pounder, compatible with both wide, and regular mouth mason jars would be my first choice.
Made with unfinished wood, the seller confirmed that no mineral oils have been used, and they state it is “safe for food”. It is 12” long and works well with 1 litre, or 1.5 litre mason jars.
I don’t yet own one of these, but at $4.35 CAD it is a perfect addition to the versatile kitchen. The company assured me that it is made with one ingredient - wood, and has no mineral oils, making it food safe.
It is relatively short in length at only 5.5” and therefore useful for pounding into smaller jars, as well as for combining with your mortar for crushing garlic or spices.
If metal is your preference for pounding sauerkraut, this food safe stainless steel pounder may be for you. Note, despite the photos showing the previous 5.5” version, the length of this pounder is 10”, and works perfectly for pounding into any mason jar up to 1 litre capacity. One concern I would have is that unlike wood, metal may crack the jar.
Jade Leaf’s matcha tea is flavourful, clean tasting, and certified organic. Using ceremonial grade for matcha latte may seem a little extravagant but peace of mind due to it being lab tested for pesticides, microbes, heavy metals and radiation, may be worth it, since this is a health food. It is grown on family run tea farms, across Japan’s main growing regions, which are organized into a farming collective called the Kizuna Tea Company. When I drink my pure green matcha I often send waves of gratitude to the farmers who have so lovingly applied their expertise to grow these teas, for well over a century.
